The HR-LD team would like to draw your attention to two official communications:

  • From Stefan Lueders, CERN Computer Security Officer & Head of Computer Security:
    • “Please note that the recommendation R-15.3 of the official 2023 Cyber-Security Audit stipulates that all software programmers/developers/architects are required to follow ‘role-specific training programmes’ regarding computer security. Therefore, please ensure that all corresponding colleagues enrol during the upcoming MERIT discussions and follow the ‘SecureFlag’ training courses. The ‘SecureFlag’ training platform provides hands-on courses, exercises and virtual environments to improve skills in secure software development in any programming language; for securely configuring your systems, VMs and containers; for and securely operating your web and computing services (Demo video). The licensing scheme is “all-you-can-eat”, and a valid license provides access to all 30 labs and, subsequently, to hundreds of security-dedicated courses. Individual licenses can be requested via CERN’s Learning Hub and are valid until 31 May 2025. “
    • The new Security Awareness Course (e-learning) is now mandatory for all, to be renewed every 5 years. Please find enclosed the Memorandum.

Other training highlights in this issue:

  • Another Micro-Talk on Timeboxing will be held on 8th November. Registration is open (here).
