Mandate
Our Transport and Handling Engineering (THE) Group provides transport and handling services for the technical infrastructure of CERN, accelerators and experiments. This includes the design, the procurement, the installation, the commissioning, the operation, the maintenance, the consolidation and the decommissioning of standard industrial and custom-built transport and handling equipment.
Our Mission
Precision Engineering for Heavy Lifting
Design, integration and feasibility studies for complex transport and handling operations.
Maintenance Management
Life cycle management of an important equipment park composed of lifts, cranes, hoists, industrial trucks, road trucks, trailers, mobile working platforms and customised tunnel transport and handling equipment.
Heavy Transport Handling
Preparation and coordination of transport and handling operations for accelerators and experiments and CERN users in general.
Logistics and Design for Future Projects
Logistics studies, simulations and conceptual design of custom-built transport and handling equipment.
