News 2020 – Week 25

Highlights this month include:

• ‘Your Career @ CERN’ portfolio: a new programme open to all Fellows in the last 6 months of their contract ‘Springboard to the Future‘ and latest information on onboarding and preparing for retirement.
• A spotlight on Diversity and Inclusion with an offer from LinkedIn learning‘.
• Additional french language resources posted in the ‘Working Remotely‘ portfolio (webinars and articles).
• Closed from 15 June – free trial from the online learning provider 'Open Sesame'.

As we enter into Phase 2 of COVID at CERN:

• Virtual e-workshops: Language, Personal Development & Communication and Leadership portfolios will most probably be maintained virtually until the end of the year.
• Face2Face workshops: Technical and Technical Management will operate a limited number of courses.
• There is no access to Training Centre until the beginning of September.
• Check out ‘CERN virtual classrooms‘ for the latest information.

Regarding the Project Management courses next week (deadline to enrol is this Friday evening), the following update has been sent by Erwin Mosselmans:

• Project Control and Follow-up with OpenSE: ½ day on Tuesday 23 June, afternoon. Confirmation that the course will run, and there are still a few places left.
• Project Risk Management with OpenSE: ½ day on Tuesday 23 June, morning. Missing one or two more participants before being able to confirm the course.

This month saw the first virtual edition of the Quarterly Onboarding Programme welcoming approximately 130 newcomers to CERN. We would appreciate your efforts to promote the Communication programme for newcomers (basics of good communication and communicating across cultures). These courses have been successfully transformed virtually.
