EN Department Head Said ATIEH

A mechanical engineer with more than 23 years of experience at CERN, Said Atieh has developed extensive expertise in mechanical engineering, materials, advanced manufacturing and quality assurance within the Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME) Group.

As Head of the Engineering Department for the 2026–2030 mandate, he aims to build on EN’s strong technical expertise, strengthen collaboration and innovation, and ensure the Department is ready to meet the engineering challenges of CERN’s current and future scientific programme. He places people, teamwork and knowledge sharing at the heart of the Department’s success.
